Antidiction - Terms and Conditions

  Welcome to Antidiction. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Antidiction mobile application ("App") for Android devices. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

  By accessing and using Antidiction, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, as well as any applicable laws and regulations. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and the App developer.

2. App Description and Purpose

  Antidiction is a self-help tool designed to assist individuals in tracking their recovery journey from addiction. The App provides features including daily progress tracking, craving level monitoring, mood assessment, diary entries, statistics visualization, and goal-setting mechanisms. The App is intended as a supplementary tool and is NOT a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

3. Medical Disclaimer

  IMPORTANT: Antidiction is NOT a medical device and does NOT provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The App is designed solely as a self-monitoring and motivational tool. All content, features, and functionality are provided for informational and tracking purposes only.

  You should ALWAYS seek the advice of qualified healthcare professionals regarding any medical condition, addiction treatment, mental health concerns, or questions you may have regarding your health. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of information provided by or tracked within this App.

  If you are experiencing a medical emergency or crisis, including thoughts of self-harm, please immediately contact emergency services or a crisis hotline in your area.

4. User Eligibility

  You must be at least 13 years of age to use this App. If you are under 18 years of age, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

5. License to Use

  Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on a compatible Android device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use.

  You may NOT:
  • Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Distribute, sublicense, rent, lease, or lend the App to third parties
  • Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices on the App

6. Data Collection and Privacy

  Personal Data Collection: Antidiction does NOT collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All data entered into the App, including daily tracking information, craving levels, mood assessments, diary entries, goals, and rewards, is stored LOCALLY on your device only.

  Google Play Store Data: When you download Antidiction from the Google Play Store, Google may collect certain information in accordance with their own privacy policies, including but not limited to: device information, installation data, crash reports, and usage analytics. This data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, over which we have no control.

  Data Responsibility: You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your device and any data stored within the App. We recommend:
  • Using device lock screens and security features
  • Regularly backing up your device
  • Keeping your device operating system updated

  Data Loss: We are not responsible for any loss of data due to device malfunction, loss, theft, factory reset, app uninstallation, or any other cause. It is your responsibility to maintain backups of any important information.

7. User-Generated Content

  You retain all rights to any content you create within the App, including diary entries, goals, rewards, and tracking data. Since all data is stored locally on your device and not transmitted to our servers, we do not have access to, control over, or ownership of your content.

  You are solely responsible for the content you create and any consequences of storing such content on your device.

8. Prohibited Uses

  You agree NOT to use the App:

  • In any way that violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
  • To harm, threaten, or harass any person
  • To impersonate or attempt to impersonate any person or entity
  • In any way that infringes upon the rights of others
  • To transmit any malicious code, viruses, or harmful data
  • To interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App
  • As a substitute for professional medical treatment or therapy

9. Intellectual Property Rights

  The App and all its original content (excluding user-generated content), features, functionality, design, code, graphics, logos, and trademarks are and will remain the exclusive property of the App developer and its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use our trademarks, logos, or brand elements without our express written permission.

  The App is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws of applicable jurisdictions.

10. Third-Party Services and Content

  The App may integrate with or contain links to third-party services, including but not limited to:
  • Google Play Store services
  • Android system services (speech-to-text, notifications, etc.)
  • Third-party libraries and components

  We do not control and are not responsible for any third-party services, their content, privacy policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their respective terms and conditions.

11. Disclaimers and Warranties

  THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR COURSE OF PERFORMANCE.

  We do NOT warrant that:
  • The App will function uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • The results obtained from using the App will be accurate or reliable
  • The quality of the App will meet your expectations
  • Any errors in the App will be corrected
  • The App will help you overcome addiction or achieve any specific health outcome

  Your use of the App is at your sole risk. Any material or data downloaded or otherwise obtained through the use of the App is accessed at your own discretion and risk.

12. Limitation of Liability

  TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE APP DEVELOPER, ITS AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR OFFICERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
  • Personal injury or property damage
  • Unauthorized access to or use of your device or data
  • Any health-related outcomes or consequences
  • Reliance on information provided by the App
  • Failure to achieve recovery or treatment goals

  This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise), even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

  Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

  You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the App developer and its affiliates, licensors, and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:

  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your use or misuse of the App
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations
  • Any content you create or store within the App

14. App Availability and Updates

  We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice, for any reason. We may also release updates, patches, or new versions of the App from time to time. While we strive to provide updates that improve functionality and security, we are under no obligation to provide any updates or continue supporting any particular version of the App.

  You acknowledge that future updates may require acceptance of revised Terms and Conditions.

15. Termination

  These Terms are effective until terminated by either you or us. Your rights under these Terms will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any of these Terms.

  You may terminate these Terms at any time by uninstalling the App and ceasing all use. Upon termination, all licenses granted to you will immediately cease, but provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) will continue to apply.

16. Modifications to Terms

  We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. If a revision is material, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice (such as through an in-app notification or update notes). Material changes will take effect upon your continued use of the App after such changes are posted.

  It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically. Your continued use of the App following the posting of revised Terms means that you accept and agree to the changes.

17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

  These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App developer resides, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

  Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in that location. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts and waive any objection as to inconvenient forum.

18. Severability

  If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under any applicable law, such unenforceability or invalidity shall not render these Terms unenforceable or invalid as a whole. Such provisions shall be deleted without affecting the remaining provisions herein.

19. Waiver

  No waiver by us of any term or condition set forth in these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or condition or a waiver of any other term or condition. Any failure to assert a right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

20. Entire Agreement

  These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and the App developer regarding your use of the App and supersede all prior and contemporaneous written or oral agreements between you and us.

22. Acknowledgment

  BY USING ANTIDICTION, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, UNDERSTAND THEM, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THEM. YOU FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE APP IS NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE OR SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL TREATMENT.
